Overview
The capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur. Populated by 2.2 Million people, Kuala Lumpur is a fast moving city which is slowly establishing itself as a high tech modern city not only in the Asian region but globally as well.

Most pictures depicting this city always display the Sultan Ahmad Shah building, but if anyone is to perceive the city as filled with buildings like that, one would be wrong. Occupied by high rise buildings which clearly defines its contemporary culture, a lot of pre-war structures are still in existence, some restored others carefully maintained. 

Culture and Ethnicity
Kuala Lumpur consists of a few major ethnicity. The Malays constitiutes the biggest portion of the population followed by the Chinese, Indians and others who over the years are living peacefully and harmoniously together. While there are other ethnicities found in the city, Kuala Lumpur is filled with different different festivals and celebrations throughout the year.

Kuala Lumpur also houses many religions followed by it various ethnicities. Islam, Christians, Buddhists, Taoists and others celebrate different commemoratives and celebrations. Therefore one can find that throughout the year, the Muslim New Year, Chinese New Year, Christmas, Thaipusam, Wesak Days are celebrated and remembered by its followers. Each culture would have their own common practices for those who practices and respected by those who don’t.

Each ethnicity has their own style of food and culture. To begin with, food is the most common language one can experience. The Malays have the Nasi Lemak, which is the most common breakfast among Malaysians. Coconut Rice with peanuts, anchovies and curry is enjoyed by most Malaysians. The Satay is another favourite. Marinated barbeque chicken with peanut sauce served with rice and cucumber, ask anyone on the streets and they will tell you where you can find the best Satay around. For the Chinese, one should try their Duck Rice and Dim Sum. In the heart of the city, one can easily find these cuisines. The Roasted Duck is the most common food used for any occasions in a typical Chinese family. Dim Sum, internationally available is also offered in most shops. Indian cuisine offers spice and hot variations. The curry chicken is the most famous among many and always spicy which is the perfect choice for anyone up for it.
