Getting around Kuala Lumpur city is not a big problem except for rush hours (early hours before 9.00am and after 5.00pm). one can easily catch a taxi which can be spotted easily as they come in various funky colours. Bus rides are harder as one have to remember the numbers and the places to alight. There are basically 3 light rail transits that goes around the city. The Putra and STAR LRT brings commuters from the suburbs into the city. The Monorail is a one way Light rail transit that goes around the city centre. To go out to smaller towns, one can catch the KTM Komuter. Most of these transportation services embodies around KL Sentral, the nucleus of all transports in Kuala Lumpur. At this place, one can also take the train that directly goes to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. For a small nominal fee, one can get from the city to the airport in 28 minutes. One can also check in their luggage in KL Sentral as well. |
